When one pays extra for upgrading components in order to increase the speed and efficiency of the PC it would be a shame if that performance is robbed by neglection of disk maintenance. Fragmentation is a disk disease that will eventually attack all drives if its not kept under control. Once it crosses a certain level, it can be a frustrating computing experience, with lags and freezes every now and then.
